Earn a degree in Wizardry!

A Different Kind of Cap & Gown!

A Different Kind of Cap & Gown!

The Harry Potter craze has officially gone too far.  Flamel College, “the largest Hermetic education portal on the Internet,” is offering a certificate in wizardry.  Yes, you read right.  Your dream of becoming a wizard is just an online course away from becoming reality, and I use that word “reality” in the broadest possible terms.  This is from their website:

To be awarded the Certificate of Wizardry from Flamel College and membership in the Wizard’s Guild, the student should first complete all 22 lessons in the first part of the textbook. This will give the student the knowledge and expertise to successfully complete the interactive Wizard’s Adventure in the second part of the textbook. This part of the textbook is the exam for the course. Crack the code at the end of the “Wizard’s Adventure” and email or mail to your instructor. If your code is correct, you will be mailed your engraved certificate and more information on how to practice wizardry.

Thank you J.K. Rowling.  I’m sure, thanks to Stephanie Meyer, that degrees in Vampireology are just around the corner.  I’m actually working on a course in Hyper Mental Imaging.  Shame on you if you don’t know what that is.

BTW – Hermetic means occult science.

Can President Bush Get Rid of the Zombies Before His Term Ends?

Look, it’s no secret that the zombie problem has escalated during President Bush’s two terms in office. I know the Democrats haven’t helped with their zombiefare program and their low-interest zombie homeowner loans, but I think Bush needs to take this problem head on and get rid of the zombies before Barack Obama takes office. Needless to say, I was thrilled to see this press conference on the White House lawn. The first thing you’ll notice is that he is attacked by the zombie leaning media.

Before there was hip hop there was rap. Before there was rap there was Frankie Smith and the Double Dutch Bus!

This is what passed for street when I was a kid.  Supposedly this is really Frankie Smith.  I have no way of knowing for sure.  I do know all you need to listen is some funky bus fare!

Michael Jordan Gets Beat in 1-on-1 Against Some Desk Jockey

What could be better than playing Michael Jordan in a game of 1-on-1?  Beating Michael Jordan in a game of 1-on-1.  I don’t know how much Michael Jordan’s camp for really rich guys costs, but I’d say this guy got his money’s worth.

Update on Kindle Contest

Read the Takers! Win a Kindle!

Read the Takers! Win a Kindle!

I’m sending everyone who sent an email to kindlecontest@rwridley.com (with the subject line: Loop me in on the Kindle Contest) the qualifying question on Monday. Be on the lookout. I want to give latecomers enough time to read the book so the drawing will take place on December 31. The winner will be able to start the new year with a nifty little gadget.

Some of you have been doing a great job of taking advantage of the Spread the Word Bonus. You all should be doing it. The more people who send an email telling me you spread the word about the contest, the more chances you have at winning the Kindle (if you provide the correct qualifying question). So, tell everyone you know. Tell them to send an email to kindlecontest@rwridley.com with the subject line Loop me in on the Kindle contest, and “So & so told me about the contest” in the the body of the email.

Bonus, Bonus: The first 10 people to send 10 people my way via the Spread the Word Bonus, I will mail you a signed copy of The Takers. A couple of you are pretty close to the magic number so keep them coming.
