Book Five of the Oz Chronicles now has a beginning!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh – I can relax.  I was sitting around minding my own business yesterday, and the first line of Book Five of the Oz Chronicles just popped up in my head!!!  Nice!  For me, once I have the first line, the rest is a breeze.  I had a major revelation about the story several weeks ago that actually made me really sad.  No, I can’t say what it is.  Let’s just say, it’s necessary.

"They surfaced."

The outline of the book was done a long, long time ago, but I’m going to make some pretty significant changes to the outline.  No title yet, and I haven’t decide whether I’m going to finish the manuscript I’m currently working on (a non-Oz story), or move this one up to the front of the line.  I wrote the first two paragraphs just to get a feel for the story, and it actually feels pretty good.

I’ll keep you posted.

  1. Is that picture of anything specific? Just out of curiousity, mind you, since that’s kinda what I pictured the Myrmidons as… Plus pincers.

    • It’s an image of a wrinkle face bat that I ran through photoshop to change skin tone, add some blood around the lips, make it’s eyes black, etc. I didn’t intend it to be a Myrmidon, but I can see what you’re talking about.

  2. Great news! My daughter might stop hounding me to write and ask when you’ll be working on book 5!!

  3. Please, please hurry!!!!! I have to know what happens and if Lou is real or not. My son got me started on The Takers, and I read the next 3 before he had a chance. I usually don’t like books like these, but they are awesome!

  4. I hope Lou survives after the world is fixed. Also that when it goes back it actually goes back to their current ages. Great novels btw. These are the first and only books I’ve bought on kindle/amazon.

  5. Dang! I just finished book 4 and immediately did a search hoping there was a book 5 out there somewhere!

Anyway, what an amazing story! Highly original, and what a page turner! I would recommend these to anyone! Thank you for taking the time to publish them 🙂

  6. Read all these last week and I couldn’t put them down! They were amazing and I can’t wait til the next one. I search for info on them like 3 times a week! Lol

  9. I literally just finished book four, and I’m dying to know what happens next!

  10. I just wanted to let you know I love The Oz Chronicles and I can’t wait for book 5! I haven’t been this invested in a group of characters since I read The Hunger Games trilogy.

    • That’s awesome. I love the Hunger Games, too! I take that as a huge complement. I am in the middle of having a discussion about the final edits on Book Five as I write this. It will be out soon. Thanks for your comments!

  11. These books were insanely good. It took over my life for a good while. I took my time reading it because I knew book 5 wasn’t published, yet alone completed, and I didn’t want to book 4 to be a cliffhanger. This is pretty much embedded in my brain and I would only be obsessed till the ending.
    Phenomenal Job.
I truly felt like I was watching the whole story from the 1st person view.
    Can’t wait till 5.
