My wife said she heard someone say that Anthony Weiner looks like Glenn Quagmire from Family Guy, and I have to say I agree. Here’s proof.
Perhaps the most disturbing outcome of this whole mess is a report that Weiner could receive as much as $1 million in pension money for his time spent as a U.S. Congressman. He served for 12 years. Twelve years! People retired after 30 years during his term and they’re collecting notta in retirement because of the failures of the men and women serving in Congress. I couldn’t care less about Weiner’s sexting scandal (other than it’s crazy enough to be funny). It’s the quality of the job he did while in office that irks the hell out of me. It’s not just him. I hold everyone in Congress accountable for the state of our economy. Nancy Pelosi’s wealth grew by 62% last year while she help orchestrate the collapse of US economy. Why are we letting any of them collect pensions? They aren’t earning it. None of them. I don’t care what party they’re in or what their fiscal philosophy is. Ever last one of them has failed. ARGH!!!!
Okay, I’m feeling better now… no I’m not.
Okay, the first round of rewrites are done on Lost Days. Mia (me beautiful wife) will give it a read hopefully this weekend, and if she likes it, I will send it to my agent. Why Mia? Because in addition to being my biggest fan, she’s my most ardent critic. And that is a good thing when you are a writer. I’m lucky to have her in my life because she makes sure that I don’t look like too much of an idiot with stale and sloppy prose. If she doesn’t like it, I know it needs work. It helps that she worked as a proofreader and technical writer for years.
I heard Seth MacFarlane (creator of Family Guy) on the radio this morning, and he made reference to a student film that got him his first job in animation. Being a huge fan of his work, I looked it up on Youtube and sure enough, I found it. I post it here for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy, and do a little dance for me. It always feels good when you finish the rewrites on the first draft.
Update*** Yep, it’s gone. Well it was fun while it lasted.
I can’t believe I found this on Youtube. I was under the impression Seth McFarlane didn’t like for Family Guy clips to be uploaded to Youtube. It looks like it was just added so I’m fairly certain it will be taken down in very short order, so have fun while it lasts. This is Stewie asking Brian about his novel.
